Zeke has finally branched out from chicken and is now barking at us for food!! We have an open container filled with all his favorite treats on the floor . He walks by every day all day and stops to sniff them - yesterday he stopped and ate five small cookies. When we were in St. Louis we went to a pet store and bought several different kinds of food. When the women heard that our dog would not eat she went to the back and brought our about ten different samples of food. All this food sits in a basket on the floor as well. Last night he pawed at the basket and started routing through it with his nose. He seemed to zero in on a lamb stew so we opened it and he ate it. WOW, never thought I would be so happy to see a dog eat!! He ate another one today!! Tomorrow is the last day for his eye medication and they appear to be clear.
We continue to give the sporonox with a buttermilk chaser, delivered through a syringe. He also still drinks a bottle of Boost a day.
We can see signs of the old Zeke coming back. He has a long way to go but at this point it is the little things! We are so glad that we did not give up on him.
