Yes, well. I've said before that I dislike malpractice. However, I can see where it would totally jump out at you, esp. in a case like Chewbakka. Neither do I like lawyers, but blatant bad medicine makes me super-pizzed. There seems to be a lack of continuing education, esp. in the area of mycoses and emerging disease.
Here are a couple of links on what a person might need to consider if they were to consider undertaking such a thing. (Please know that I'm not advising anyone to sue anyone over anything! This is just stuff I wanted to know about, and thought I'd pass it on...ahem.)
As with anything important, remember:
From day 1, document, document, document. On paper. Dates, times, places, people, everything said, done, suggested, receipts, scrips, etc.
Always cover your bum.

http://www.animallaw.info/articles/arusfavrevetmalpractice.htmBetter notes on really covering your bum. Good information for Plaintiffs as well as Defendants.
(***NOTE*** "Res ipsa loquitur" is legal-ese Latin meaning literally, "the thing itself speaks" but is more often translated "the thing speaks for itself"...as in obvious blasto lesions being treated as "hot spots".***headdesk***)

Edit:
I thought I should also include this link:
http://animallawonline.blogspot.com/2006/02/how-much-is-your-pet-worth.htmlThe 2nd story is from a lady who lost her dog to Blasto, but like most people, seems to have received a reasonable standard of care. I feel very sad and sorry for her, but c'est la vie.
